Making room for the rest of the week

Mondays are my days where I clear out business so I don’t have so much to worry about the rest of the week.

Today, I picked up meds, took care of some orders so my last standing crew member from the Pandemic could take care of a massive wholesale order without piddly stuff to do, recycled, I hauled firewood. I didn’t feel well because I forgot to eat lunch, so I had a midday snack of taters a bit later.

I did some sewing to clear the workbench off. I had a big bulky blanket that was given to me by an elder friend a couple years ago occupying an unjustifiable amount of space. I inferred from our conversations that the blanket had seen some unhappy times, and although it was gifted to me with the warmest sentiments, I couldn’t escape the bad juju. It was heavy and thick. I needed a heavy and thick blanket for the top of the bed, so the dogs’ digging didn’t tear up the bedding, so I covered that baggage blanket with some brightly colored canvas, and it’s the perfect dog-friendly bed topper now. Won’t collect fur, and is tough enough to dig in! So I laid it upon the bed with a ceremonial shake. Two dogs launched right onto it, and when I returned upstairs with some laundry, someone had puked on it, and it didn’t sop through. So it’s clearly a happy solution for a mixed juju blanket and will now be appreciated by all!

The most important thing I did today, however, was put together three letters to property owners adjacent to me. I used Garamond font, (open, warm, and traditional), and made an offer to purchase their vacant lots. I’m happy I could offer more than what lots usually go for around here, so if they are thinking of selling, I made it a smart deal for them. Two of them sound retired (Old fashiondy names (Leo and Ralph, and live south). The most important lot for views is owned by folks about 45 minutes from here. I included a map of the subdivision with their lot sandwiched between a rental and my place. Hopefully that will be a nudge.

The rest of the week should be quieter. January 4, people should be coming back from their ailments and breaks. My poor crew. I have three full timers and one part timer. The three full timer all got seriously ill (Not all COVID, but sick none the less). My half timer stayed healthy- but I should check in with him just in case.
