Gwen

Although Lady Gwynhyvar died of spleen cancer right before Mons Domus was built, she was with us in the Shed as the project started.

I met Gwen at the animal shelter near State College, PA in 2006, she was three years old. She was a mix that included Chow, Doberman, German Shepherd, Collie, and more.

Gwenny was the Dog in Charge, and kept things in order with Horus and Mobius. The four of us lived in the shed for a year before she passed away. She was a brave, bold, sensible dog. She was gentle with her loved ones and stuck by the rules. She had a ferocious side if you were a cat or small creature who wandered into the yard, and the world is short a few barn cats because of her.

Her cancer was sudden and unrelenting. She was otherwise in good health, and we miss her dearly.

At home in the Shed, not long before cancer took her. I miss you so much, dear Gwen. (Keen observers: here was no power to the property at this point, so the animals were not at risk by exposed wiring.)
