7 Days

There’s this construct that never really made a lot of sense to me, the 7-day week. It seems this hinges upon the Babylonians’ observational talents, astute at the time, but we know there are many more bodies in our solar system these days.

None the less, as a child of civilization and business owner, I can accept 7 days as my week, too.

In the course of each of my weeks there are regular events that mark the passage of days.

  • Food Delivery (Wednesday, but adjustable)
  • Food Ordering (Friday, adjustable commensurate with Food Delivery)
  • Star Trek (New Episodes on Thursdays. To me, Trek is a fiction that celebrates the possibilities of Humanity in an unknown future. It’s the streaming pleasure that I freely allow myself.)
  • Weekends, I don’t get queries from the good people at my business.
  • Sundays used to be no deliveries, but now FedEx swings by..
  • Mondays are very busy at the business and I must be on call.

The days of the week are named for planets, the Sun and the Moon- weighty things! I’m wondering if superimposing some thematic cycle upon my week would be worthwhile. At this point. It’s just a question.
